There are Muslim organizations now joining hands with Tamil Diaspora groups this time. These Muslim groups are up in arms against the Government over the burial issue. How do you counter it?
It is a settled issue. The World Health Organization has said that individual countries can take the most appropriate decision in this regard. We should look at the best method to prevent the spread of the virus through dead bodies. What is paramount is public health.

ReplyDeleteAccording to WHO Interim Guidance dated 24 March 2020 on Infection Prevention and Control for the Safe Management of a Dead Body in the Context of COVID-19, ‘cadavers do not transmit disease’ and that ‘It is a common myth that persons who have died of a communicable disease should be cremated, but this is not true. Cremation is a matter of cultural choice and available resources’. The Guidance further advises the authorities to ‘manage each situation on a case-by-case basis, balancing the rights of the family, the need to investigate the cause of death, and the risks of exposure to infection’. Where disposal is concerned, the Guidance says that ‘People who have died from COVID-19 can be buried or cremated’.
Does it say that "Individual countries can take the most appropriate decision in this regard" as you have WRONGFULLY claimed?

ReplyDeleteSince the Mask is capable to stop Corona Virus from entering into human body via nose and mouth, we will wrap our Janazas by using the mask manufacturing material. So, it will stop the virus from spreading.
Corona is not a virus in Sri Lanka nowadays but it became a political tool and a modern gynocritic tool.
