  1. "The Muslim Voice" congratulates This Malay officer to have won the trust and confidence of HE Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the new Sinhala hierarchy , Alhamdulillah. The Malayas are Muslim, but due to a historical socio-cultural mishap created by some Muslim politician in the aftermath of Independence, Muslims in Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) were divided into Ceylon Moors, Indian Moors and Malays. The late Sir Razik Fareed claimed he was a Ceylon Moor and the late T.B.Jaya was a Malay. Both were "Nationalist" who cultivated the best social, ethic and political realtionship of the Moors and the Malays with the majority community and maintained very good realtionship with the Tamil communities too. The appointment of Ex. Army Officer Sally is another step towards HE. Gotabaya Rajapaksa initiating trust of the majority community in the Muslims and creating reconciliation between the Sinhalese and Muslims which is very much "wounded" socially and otherwise. "The Muslim Voice" welcomes this appointment with much respect and honour extended to the Muslim community by the new President.
