Dear Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe.

The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka, on behalf of the Muslim community, takes great pleasure in congratulating you and the members of the UNFG government on the remarkable victory at the August 17^th Parliamentary Election. Your victory reinforces the silent and peaceful revolution that began in January 2015 with the change in government.

The Muslims of Sri Lanka believe in your ideals of good governance and democracy and have once again voted overwhelmingly to bring back communal harmony, reconciliation and peace.

We are confident that under your able leadership, the different communities living in Sri Lanka would co-exist with dignity. We urge you to ensure that the hate campaign that targeted the Muslims and the evangelical Christians by extremists elements during the last four years is censured and anyone violating the rights of any citizen is prosecuted with the full force of the law.

We look forward to working with you closely and will support you and your government in all your endeavors to rebuild our nation as a peaceful, multi-ethnic and multicultural country.
