இலங்கையில் அல்ஹைதா, தலிபான் உள்ளதா..? மழுப்பலாக பதிலளித்த அமைச்சர்

அல் கயீடா மற்றும் தலிபான்களுடன் தொடர்புடைய தனிநபர்கள் மற்றும் நிறுவனங்களுக்கு தடைகளை விதிப்பதற்கான சட்டங்கள் முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கையாகவே அமுல்படுத்தப்படவுள்ளன என அரசாங்கம் தெரிவித்தது.

உலக சூழ்நிலைக்கேற்ப நாம் செயற்பட வேண்டியிருப்பதால் முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கையாக இப்புதிய சட்டங்கள் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்படவுள்ளன என அரசாங்கப் பேச்சாளரான அமைச்சர் கெஹலிய ரம்புக்வெல்ல கூறினார்.

இலங்கையில் அல் கயீடா மற்றும் தலிபான் அமைப்புகளுடன் தொடர்புயை சக்திகள்  உள்ளன என அரசாங்கம் நம்புகிறதா என டெய்லி மிரர் கேட்டபோது, அமைச்சர் ரம்புக்வெல்ல மழுப்பலாக பதிலளித்தார்.  'நோயை குணப்படுத்துவதைவிட தடுப்பது சிறந்தது என்பது ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட உண்மை.  உலகின் ஏனைய பாகங்களில் இடம்பெறுவதை நாம் அவதானித்து செயற்படுகிறோம்' என அவர் கூறினார்.

The Government said today that the introduction of new laws which impose sanctions on individuals or entities that have links with Taliban or Al-Qaeda is a precautionary measure.  Government Spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said “The introduction of these new laws is a precautionary measure as we have to fall in line with the situation of the globe”.

When queried by the Daily Mirror as to if the government believes that elements linked to these organizations exist in Sri Lanka Rambukwella was evasive “ Prevention is better than cure and that is an accepted fact, we are following the developments in the rest of the world” he said.
