A meeting with the president regarding, Dambulla masjid

A meeting regarding the Dambulla masjid was held with the president at the Kandy president house on 05.05.2012 saturday night by Matale mayor mr mohamed hilmy careem. The secretary of mayor hilmy careem, mr S.H.M. Niyas too, participated in conversation.

During this conversation, the president thanked the All Ceylon Jammiyatthul Ulama leader, Rizvi mufthi. Because he announced that muslims should not involve in any protests or rallies and therefore no problems erupted during the last few weeks. The president stated that he appreciates the decisions taken by the ACJU leader and the other members during this as critical moment and the future generation should take this as a good example. So he said that is his duty to thank them.

President further stated that he will take the Dambulla masjid problem into his serious consideration and give the muslims a good decision on it. Mayor Hilmy careem also explained proved that this masjid is there more than 50 years, because the media news mentioned it is just 10 years old.

During this meeting, the president called the kandy Shri dalada maligawa Diyawadana nilame, Pradeep dela bandara to make necessary arrangement to meet kandy Asgiri maha nayakke thero, regarding this matter.

Finally the president promised Mayor Hilmy Careem, that he would give a good decision on this matter which will not harm any of the muslims.
