வடக்கு - கிழக்கு இணைக்கப்பட வேண்டும் - என்பதிலிருந்து இனி கீழிறங்க முடியாது - சுமந்திரன்
புதிய அரசமைப்புத் தொடர்பாக வெளியாகி இருக்கும் இடைக்கால அறிக்கையில், கூறப்பட்டுள்ள விடயங்களிலிருந்து ஓர் அங்குலம் கூட இனிக் கீழிறங்க முடியாது என தமிழ்த் தேசிய கூட்டமைப்பின் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினரும் அக்கட்சியின் ஊடகப் பேச்சாளருமான எம்.ஏ சுமந்திரன் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
அமெரிக்க அதிகாரிகளுடனான சந்திப்பு குறித்து விளக்கமளிக்கும் போதே இதை குறிப்பிட்டார். தொடர்ந்து தெரிவிக்கையில்,
“எமது நிலைப்பாட்டிலிருந்து நாம் ஏற்கனவே கீழிறங்கி வந்துள்ளோம். தீர்க்கமான முடிவு எட்டப்படாமல் தெரிவுகளுக்கு விடப்பட்டுள்ள மூன்று விடயங்கள் தொடர்பில் சாதகமான முடிவு கிடைத்தால் மட்டுமே தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பு இறுதி வரைவை ஏற்கும்.
வடக்கு கிழக்கு மாகாணங்கள் இணைக்கப்பட வேண்டும், மாகாணங்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்ட அதிகாரங்களை எந்தச் சந்தர்ப்பத்திலும் கொழும்பு திருப்பி எடுக்க முடியாது என்பதை உறுதிப்படுத்தும் வகையிலான பொறிமுறை, நிதி அதிகாரம் மாகாணங்களுக்கு முழுமையாக வழங்கப்படவேண்டும் ஆகிய மூன்று கோரிக்கைகளும் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டால் மட்டுமே புதிய அரசமைப்புக்கு ஆதரவு எனவும் கூட்டமைப்பு திட்டவட்டமாகத் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
இடைக்கால அறிக்கையில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள விடயங்களிலி ருந்து ஓர் அங்குலம்கூட இனிக் கீழிறங்க முடியாது. எமது நிலைப்பாட்டிலிருந்து நாம் ஏற்கனவே கீழிறங்கி வந்துள்ளோம். இடைக்கால அறிக்கையில் சில விடயங்கள் தெரிவுக்காக விடப்பட்டுள்ளன. அவை எமக்கு முற்று முழுதாகச் சார்பாக வர வேண்டும். முக்கியமாக மூன்று விடயங்கள் எமக்குச் சாதகமாக அமைய வேண்டும்.
வடக்கு – கிழக்கு இணைக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு மாகாணமாக இருத்தல், வழங்கப்பட்ட அதிகாரங்களை மீளப் பெற முடியாது என்ற பொறிமுறை இறுக்கமானதாகக் குறிப்பிடப்படல், மாகாணங்களுக்கு நிதி அதிகாரம் முழுமையாக வழங்கப்படுதல் என்ற மூன்று விடயங்களும் எமக்குச் சாதகமாக இருக்க வேண்டும்.” என்றார் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் எம்.ஏ.சுமந்திரன்.

Still we couldn't understand why you all are asking for the merger. As a moderate person from the East I would like to ask from you what is wrong in having North and East as two independent provinces. If you really wants to get these two provinces merged please do it through referendum. It is highly democracy and mostly accepted . We will not allow to get merged overnight. Please talk to All Ceylon Jammiyathul Ulamaa in this regard because our interest will be looked after by them correctly

DeleteWe are the majority community in the East and we have all the right to talk with regard to East. We are living in a democratic country and therefore your cry for the merger should be done through democratic process. We are opposing for the overnight merger only because we have suffered enough when the North and East were temporarily merged. Therefore we all will getogether and ask for a referendum in the East whether the eastern people like to get merged with North. If the result is yes for the merger we will go by that decision.
Please don't make any gap and grudge between Tamil and Muslim communities and if that happened the consequences will make the prevailing peace in the East worse.

There is no need for referendum because srilanka is unitary state and only Parliament and president has supreme power. More over there is no any need for referendums to merge provinces.because now north east demerged.now an act of parliment can merge provinces.

Dear Kumar Kumara, we are not interfering into anyone's politics in Sri Lanka. We are not bothering about your business. As you are fighting for your rights and solutions, we are fighting for our rights. As you mentioned, Ministers and MPs who is carrying Islamic names are not our leaders. They are poors living in our courtesy and votes. Who told they SL Muslims's leaders. Do they have leadership qualities?. Their profession is politics. Our poor people are voting for them for some road projects and dengu inspectors jobs they offer. This is the fact. You are fighting for 70 years. Even if you get eelam, your fight will continue till the end of this world. You have sacrified for your identity. Same time you should provide compensation to Muslims for the properties and lives you destroyed. What you mean by traditional home land and traditional right ??.. Traditional does not make sense for your claims. Your terrorist organisations killed innocent lives, destroyed properties and forced Jaffna Muslims to vacate within 24 hours. You are "NOT" a "PEOPLES ELECTED" parliament representative of the TAMILS to say what you are telling. The Muslims in the North-East have suffered very much and lost a lot under the administrative power of Tamil Government Servants/government officials and the dominating Tamil political parties since independence. The Muslims in the North and East were treated as second class citizens. With the advent of the LTTE, it became much worst, till May 2009. The Colombo Muslims or Muslims who live outside the North and East did not feel the oppression, because they were administered by the Sinhalese administrators/government officials who were communal too, but considerate. The Eastern Province was formally born on 1 January 2007. SINCE THEN, the Muslims in the Eastern Province have some form of FREEDOM and enjoy FUNDAMENTAL and POLITICAL RIGHTS. Muslims of the Eastern Province should OPPOSE a demerger of the North and Eastern Provinces at any cost, Insha Allah. Muslims should NOT at any stage consider the political “CROCODILE TEARS” of R. Sambandan and the TNA or the “OPPORTUNITIC” statements of RAUF HAKEEM, Insha Allah.
