  3. Arguing with the Police or clashing with the police or authorities by politicians or lawyers is of no avail when the majority nationalist community supported by the Buddhist clergy will protest to obstruct the construction or renovation/expansion of any Muslim religious premises in Sri Lanka. It is understood that the Mayor of Dehiwela Mount Lavinia has revoked the permission granted and temporarily issued instructions that the construction work at the Bathiya Mawatha Jumma Mosque in Dehiwela should be stopped. Kohuwala/Dehiwela police has given one week’s time period ONLY to finish the minor renovations works like fixing the windows etc., to enable special prayer activities to take place during the month of Holy Ramadan. Making loud noises to the Police in the presence of a Muslim congregation when they come tocarry out duties explained as to prevent civil disobedience can be construed as disturbing the peace in the neighbourhood by Muslims. It can also lead to “ Mob Reaction “by the crowds present, God AllMighty Allah forbid. Showing an example of a brothel and degrading the Holy House of God AllMighty Allah and challenging the Police to go inside and have a look whether there is prostitution done, is of bad morale of a learned Attorney-at-Law. This is how we Muslims degrade our “DIGNITY”. The Sri Lankan Muslims are a “POWER TO THEMSELVES TO BE REKONED” Insha Allah, Alhamdulillah. But we Muslims without understanding this “POWER VESTED ON US BY GOD ALLMIGHTY ALLAH” – The “Heihra Umma” demean ourselves in the manner of publicity dramas stated as above. Why cannot we tell the government that this is NOT the way to treat the Muslims in Sri Lanka, Insha Allah. Every community should have their RELIGIOUS RIGHT EMBEDDED IN THE CONSTITUTION which means that even constructing their own religious premises cannot be oppressed by another community, especially by the majority Sinhala community in Sri Lanka. This is NOT that we Muslims are communal, but it is our legitimate and Fundamental Right. Muslims in Sri Lanka do NOT have a voice - a POLITICAL VOICE for that purpose. Without no malice to Lawyer Shiraz Noordeen’s enthusiasm concerning community issues, it is time up that a NEW POLITICAL FORCE that will be honest and sincere that will produce "CLEAN" and diligent Muslim Politicians to stand up and defend the Muslim Community politically and otherwise, especially from among the YOUTH, has to emerge from within the Sri Lanka Muslim Community to face any above challenges politically through RIGHTFULL legislations adopted in our favour in the coming future, Insha Allah.

  6. It seems like daily problem everywhere in SL for last few years. I think you guys need to find out;
    (1) why are Budist monks against muslim's mosque/schools developments in SL?
    (2) Are Other religions also doing the same?
    (3) Are Budists doing same to Others (Hindu/Christians) too?
    (4) Why is it a problem for only a few years, not before?

    Why?.. You have to find "basic issue" and sort it out once in for all.

  7. I agree on Noor Nizam's concern over 'Prostitution' and I think it should be taken as a mistake Siraz Noordeen made under pressure and forgiven. He deserves prayers for his committment to the Muslim society.

    "Innamal A'maalu Binniyyaath!" The intention to fight for Muslim rights as per the circumstance discussed here, reagardless of it being Sunnah or Fard, should be for Allah and that may Allah be pleased with us. "If you don't fight for Sunnah then they will lay hands on Fard!" contradicts that?

    * If there's nothing nice to say, then don't say anything! *
    * If something is not mentionable, then don't even start it!! *

    Tharaweeh maybe a sunnah but if there's an action deem necessary over a situation, instead of sidestepping it, the least one can do is to turn to Allah and make dua.
