I'm sudden with news of passing away of our beloved teacher Moulavi Masood of Dumbluwa, Hemmathagama. Moulavi Masood hails from a respected family in Dumbuluwa . He is highly educated person with a degree in arts and humanities. Moreover, he completed his Moulavi certificate course from al-Ghafooriya Arabic college. He has indeed, provided a dedicated service in teaching and community works
He has been an exemplary person with noble characters and qualities. He has always been getting on well with all people in the community.I was fortunate enough to learn from him at Al-Azhar school for my GCSE O/L examination and Orlana Arabic college. He has been a very good Tamil teacher and still I remember his lessons in Tamil language and literature. He had an excellent teaching skill in Tamil literature and Arabic grammar. He has been teaching in many schools at different parts of Sri Lanka. I was fortunate enough to work with him at Sri Lankan Examination board as well. He has been a professional teacher and mentor. He has indeed done a lots of social works as well. He dedicated his service for Orlana Arabic college for many years and indeed, worked as an executive members of its board as well. He also worked as a Principal of the same Arabic college for sometime. He has indeed produced thousands of students.
He has always been helping and advising students. He is a pious and very religious person and always been punctual in his prayers and other religious duties. I'm really sad that I'm unable to attend his funeral.
Today people of Dumbuluwa lost one of its noble souls. May Allah forgive him and reward him with Jennath al-Firdaus. Our heartfelt condolence for his family members and relatives.
