அரச ஆதரவுடன் கிழக்கில் மறைக்கப்பட்ட, 600 முஸ்லிம்களின் படுகொலை

1990.06.11 ஆம் திகதி கிழக்கு மாகாணத்தின் பொலிஸ் நிலையங்கள் விடுதலைப்புலிகளால் சுற்றிவளைக்கப்பட்ட போது மேலிடத்து அரச உத்தரவின் பெயரில் ஆயுதங்கள் தம்வசம் இருந்தும் விடுதலைபுலிகளுக்கு தாக்குதல் நடத்தாமல் தம்மிடம் இருந்த அனைத்து ஆயுதங்களையும் விடுதலைப்புளிகளிடம் ஒப்படைத்துவிட்டு சரணடைந்த 800 பொலிஸ் அதிகாரிகளில் 600 பேர் தமிழ்பேசும் சமுகத்தை சார்ந்த முஸ்லிம்கள் ஆவார்கள்.
ஜனாதிபதி ரனசிங்க பிரேமதாச புதிய ஆயுதங்களை கிழக்கு பொலிஸ் நியங்களுக்கு வழங்கி ஒரு கிழமையில் கிழக்கில் LTTE யின் கட்டளை தலைமைகளான கருனா அம்மான் மற்றும் கரிகாளன் தலைமையிளான குழுவிடம் ஒப்படைக்க 800 பொலிஸ் பாதுகாப்பு படையினரின் உயிர் தாரைவார்க்கப்பட்டது.
சரன் அடைந்தவர்கள் திருக்கோவில் பகுதியில் உள்ள ஒரு பாடசாலை ஒன்றில் 3 நாட்கள் அடைத்து வைத்திருந்து 4காவது நாள் இரவு இவர்கள் திருக்கோவில் பகுதியில் உள்ள ஒரு காட்டுப்பகுதி சமவெளியில் வைத்து LTTE யின் பொலீஸ் பிரிவுக்கு பொறுப்பாய் இருந்த நடேசனின் மேற்பார்வையில் 800 பொலிஸ் அதிகாரிகளும் நிர்வாணப்படுத்தி கண்களும் கைகளும் கட்டப்பட்டு சுடப்பட்டார்கள். இவர்கள் அனைவரும் ஒரே இடத்தில் சுடப்பட்டு பின்னர் ஒரே கிடங்கில் போட்டு பெற்றோல் ஊற்றி எரிக்கப்பட்டார்கள் .
இந்த சம்பவத்தின் போது துப்பாக்கிச்சூடு பட்டும் உயிர் தப்பிய இரண்டே இரண்டு பொலிஸ் அதிகாரிகள் மாத்திரம் தற்போதும் வாழ்ந்து வருகின்றார்கள்.
ஒருவர் ஹோமாகமையைச் சார்ந்த ஒரு பொலிஸ் கான்ஸ்டபல் பின்னர் இவருக்கு பதவி உயர்வு வழங்கப்பட்டது. அடுத்தவர் ஒரு முஸ்லிம் இவர் பலாங்கொடையை சேர்ந்தவர்.
1994 சந்ரிகா பண்டாரநாயக ஜனாதியானதும் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட ஜனாதிபதி ஆனைக்குளுவில் இந்த கிழக்கின் பொலிஸ் கொலை சம்பந்தமாக இவ் இருவரும் மாத்திரம் தான் இந்த சம்பவத்தில் இறுதிக் கட்டத்தில் சாவின் விளிம்பில் தப்பியவர்களாக சாட்சியம் அளித்தார்கள்.
பின்னர் அந்த திருக்கோயில் புதைகுழி அகழ்வுக்கும் ஆணைக்குழு சிபார்சு செய்தது....,.
ஒரு சிலதை நான் இங்கு குறிப்பிட விரும்பவில்லை
இந்த படுகொலைகள் சாதாரணமாக விடுதலைபுலிகள் செய்த கொலைகளுடன் இதுவும் ஒன்றாக கருத முடியாது. இந்த படுகொலைகள் அரச அனுசரனையில் விடுதலைப்புலிகள் நடத்திய கொலைகளில் மிகப்பெரிய படுகொலை யாகும். இம் மாதம் ஜுன் 11ம் திகதியோடு 26 வருடங்கள் கழிந்தும் இன்னும் இதன் மர்மங்கள் அகலவில்லை.
முன்னால் பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சர் ரஞ்சன் விஜெரத்னவும் ஜனாதிபதி ரனசிங்க பிரேமதாசவும் விடுதலைப்புலிகளின் தலைமைகலும் மாத்திரமே இதன் மர்மங்களை அறிவார்கள்.
விடுதலைப்புலிகளின் கிழக்கு கட்டளை தளபதி விநாயகமூர்த்தி முரளிதரன் கருனா அம்மான் கடந்த மகிந்த அரசில் பல முக்கிய பதவிகள் மற்றும் அமைச்சுக்கள் பொறுப்பாக இருந்தும் இந்த கொலைகளுக்குரிய பின்னனியை அரசு கண்டரிய தவறிவிட்டது.
விடுதலைப்புலிகளின் முன்னால் கிழக்கு கட்டளை தளபதி விநாயகமூர்த்தி முரளிதரன் அவர்கள் தற்போதைய முஸ்லிம் காங்கரஸ் உறுப்பினரும் முன்னால் ஐக்கிய தேசிய கட்சி உறுப்பினருமாகிய அலிசாகிர் மௌலானாவின் பாதுகாப்பில் வெளிநாடு ஒன்றில் தங்கி மீண்டும் இலங்கை வந்தபோதும் அதன் பின்னர் அவர் அமைச்சு பதவி வகிக்கும் போதும். திரு விநாயகமூர்த்தி முரளிதரன் அவர்களை பலமுறை சந்திக்கும் வாய்ப்பு கிட்டியது அந்த நேரங்களில் ஒருமுறை இந்த போலீஸ் கொலைகள் சம்பந்தமாக அவரிடம் வினவியபோது அவர் அதற்கான ஒரு நீண்ட பதில் கூறினர். ஆனால் அந்த பதில் திருப்தியடைய முடியாததாலும் அந்த பதில் இப்பிரட்சினையை வேறு திசைக்கு கொண்டுசெல்லும் என்பதால் நான் இங்கு பதிவிட விரும்பவில்லை.

இன்று 26 வருடங்களுக்கு பிறகு இவ்விடயத்தை நினைவுகூரும் நாம் அதே நேரத்தில் இறுதி யுத்தத்தின் போது இலங்கை அரசபடைகளால் மேற்கொண்ட இன அழிப்பையும் மறந்துவிட முடியாது .

ReplyDeleteThe Muslim Congress under late leader Ashraf and Segu Issaddin, was the root cause for ethnic conflict between Tamil speaking communities both Tamils and Muslim. Muslim youngsters were radicalized just for their own political purposes and it lead for many Muslim to join SL armed forces mainly SL police in the east. Even, the Muslim congress called youths to join Civil Volunteer Forces which was organized and trained by Indian forces (IPKF) to operate under North Eastern Provincial Council. There were A CVF and B CVF as well. B CVF was to directly operate with Tamil National Army (TNA) which was also trained by IPKF. Muslim Congress provided many youths to all these forces. It was thought that the sole purpose of these forces to fight against LTTE and they were used in the same way. Many Muslims youths were joined the rank of LTTE as well at that time. Not every one of LTTE’s Muslim cadres joined LTTE ranks with political or social reasons but rather to be a part of militant group as it was a kind of attraction for them.
ReplyDeleteWhen the peace talk was broken in east in 1990s, all parties tried to start the talk again. A.C.S Hameed tried his best to bring LTTE back to negotiation table when the all out war was going in the east. Unlike you mentioned in this article, the government was still trying to normalize the situation by talk. You cannot blame the government or anyone else on this tragedy.
At the beginning, all arrested SL polices including Singhalese were released and allowed to go home through Batticaloa (Valay Iravu ) airport in Batticaloa. Later the war was about to become all out war, for some reasons, the arrested Singhalese personals were kept as political prisoner by LTTE and all others, mostly Muslims were released. Muslim police personals were also kept as political prisoner by LTTE in few places in Ampari. The initially released Muslim police personals were searched and few of them were re-arrested by LTTE due to suspicious news that the same people were involved in helping security forces providing information.
Vinayaga Moorthy Muralitharan - Karuna , the former LTTE commander of eastern province had told in many interviews that what has happened to the arrested police constables during the all out war with government forces.
Finally in 1990 conflicts, everything lead to killing of many more innocent Muslims by LTTE including the children , women , pregnant women, etc starting from killing of Kattankudi Hajj travelers, attack on Kattankudi mosque, over night killing in Eravur, etc. No explanation can be given by LTTE or LTTE’s sympathizer for this horrific killing of innocent people. It is true that the communal violence started after the killing of Muslim, had lead to huge loss of innocent life and assets among both Tamil and Muslims.
There was a significantly large scale ethnic conflict between Muslims and Tamils in 1985 in the east. At that time, there was no Muslim congress. But the influential people and politicians in both communities worked together and put an end to the conflict before it lead to huge loss of life and assets.
But the formation of Muslim congress and their suspicious function in their early time, somehow, lead Muslim community in the east to conflict directly with a militant group LTTE. Even common Tamil people took LTTE’s move against Muslim as justifiable as the relationship between two communities was already damaged by Muslim congress’s radicalization and their functions which Tamil thought it will weak their aim to obtain a separate country.
Now, after the war is over, the relationship between Tamil and Muslims are very much improved. All must work on further reconciliation rather than radicalization of people and create more splits
