  5. "Doctors are scared about business competition in future" Don't spread nonsense statements to divert the problem. If SAITM acquired by the government still the competition will be there. Even by the Eastern University madical faculty or Rajarata Madical Faculty. Problem is not that. It's the matter of Qualified persons. You can argue A/L is not good mesurement for qualification. Ok, then atleast Common Exam for all medical faculties, That exam also not there for SATM. You people wants to accept these doctors to treat you.In emergency situation you don't have the choice to select doctor. But, the available doctor should be competent enough to handle the emergency. " This is not the problem of government doctors. It's the problem of our future generation."

  6. U r correct, in emergency situation there is no doctors, they r at private clinics in front of government hospital. Thatsy I told u, they r scared that their main earning will reduce dramatically when SAITM starts to produce more doctors. U r talking about competent. Don't u know how many murder happened in government hospital? Where they studied? By killing others, where went their competent? Whether u like o not Sri Lanka wants more than one private medical college.

  7. @zihar,
Not many Sri Lankans. Few going India because of not having facilities for some treatment.
Eg:- PET Scan- even though we collected money to purchase. (Not yet purchased.)
Bone marrow transplant surgery. (Now it’s available in Sri Lanka only in Maharagama. But, limited)

If India is better, why Indian politicians & businessman seeks treatment in Singapore.
I am not telling Indian doctors are inferior to Sri Lankan doctors. But, India having worst doctors because of their private medical education system. Every politician in India having atleast one private medical school.

    @ahamed faris,
You are reflecting what I am trying to say. Do you think if SAITM starts it will stop the private practices. Even freely educated doctors doing private practices then what about the doctors who are invested more than 12 million.
According to your statement In Sri Lankan education system the qualified persons killing people. Then what will be happen if unqualified person’s becomes doctor. “ Bad is better than Worst.”
You mentioned problems should be resolved only by strict laws and regulations. Not with the private medical colleges.

If ECTA signed more than 10 Indian universities already waiting to start private medical colleges. Simultaniously private hospitals will be emerge. Then the government hospitals will be “Dharma Asupathiri” as in India.

People’s who are supporting Private medical colleges in Sri Lanka, don’t only think against government doctors. Think about the people and future generation.
Think the problems with the government doctors will be solved with SAITM or it will be worse.

We are already loosing our free education with the emergence of so called “International Schools.” Same will happen to free health. Think wisely. Think neutrally.
