ஜனாஸாக்களை அடக்கம் செய்வதற்கு இடமளிப்போம் என பிரதமர் மஹிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ, பாராளுமன்றத்தில் தெரிவித்தார்.

பாராளுமன்றத்தில் பிரதமரிடம் கேளுங்கள் கேள்வி நேரத்தில், ஐக்கிய மக்கள் சக்தியின் கொழும்பு மாவட்ட பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் எஸ்.எம். மரிக்கார்,
“நீரின் ஊடாக கொரோனா வைரஸ் தொற்றுவதற்கு வாய்ப்பு இல்லையென சுகாதார இராஜாங்க அமைச்சர் சுதர்ஷினி பெர்ணான்டோபுள்ளே, பாராளுமன்றத்தில் நேற்று (09) தெரிவித்தார். அப்படியாயின், மரணமடையும் முஸ்லிம்களை புதைப்பதற்கு இடைமளிப்பீர்களா” என வினவினார்.
அதற்கு பதிலளித்த பிரதமர் மஹிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ, “ புதைப்பதற்கு இடமளிப்போம்” என்றார்.
எழுந்து நின்றிருந்த மரிக்கார் எம்.பி. “மிக்க நன்றி” எனக் கூறியமர்ந்தார்.
"தற்போது இடமளிப்போம்" . அதாவது இதுவரை நாம் இடமளிக்கவில்லை.வேறு எந்த காரணமும் இல்லை.

ReplyDeleteWhy Now after almost one year and after REPEATED requests from the Entire Muslim Community in the country and several Requests from Muslim Organisations and Humanitarian Groups worldwide including UN Organisations?
ReplyDeleteLets not forget that the PM wanted this done on or about the 10th December last when he summoned a Meeting with Health Ministry Officials and asked them to provide urgently a list of suitable places in the country to carry out Burial, where the alleged water pollution cannot take place. Nothing more was heard from him after that and he seems to have woken up suddenly After 2 months to announce the Decision. Obviously, some others who mattered had different ideas all this while and the PM couldn't carry out his wish.
Obviously, subsequent developments made it difficult for the powerful people to continue with the Cremation. They are
1. The upcoming UNHCR Discussion which is going to be very difficult
for the Govt. with the Cremation making it even worse.
2. The Antagonisation of India over the ECT Pull out. The latest
allegation, not denied by the Govt. so far, that India was
responsible for the Easter Terror, has made matters even worse.
3. The upcoming visit of Imran Khan whom the Govt. expects to use to
canvass the support of Muslim countries at the UNHCR Conference.
Even if Imran Khan agrees to do so, the continuance of the
Cremation is most likely to Make Imran Khan's efforts fail.
4. Last, but not the least, the just concluded March from Pottuwil to
the North Organised by the Tamils but enthusiastically supported by
the Muslims, must have sent shock waves to the Govt. The last thing
the Govt. wants is the Coming together of the Tamils and Muslims.
Unity between the Tamils and Muslims would make the Govt. Policy of
"Divide and Rule" very Hard or Impossible.
Any way, it is Good News and let's hope and pray that it happens Very soon.
