Nearly 16 candidates contesting from the United National Party (UNP), including leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, failed to secure a seat in Parliament following the General Elections 2020.

26 candidates from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), 15 candidates from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), and 03 candidates from the National People’s Power (NPP) have also failed to secure a seat in Parliament.
