பிரிகேடியர் சுரேஷ் சல்லேவை நாட்டின் புலனாய்வு சேவையின் தலைவராக நியமிக்க ஜனாதிபதி கோட்டபய ராஜபக்ஷ எடுத்த முடிவை முன்னாள் ராணுவ தளபதியும் யுஎன்எஃப் எம்.பி.யுமான சரத் பொன்சேகா இன்று -07- விமர்சித்தார்.

செவ்வாயன்று நடைபெற்ற நாடாளுமன்றக் கூட்டத்தொடரில் பேசிய பொன்சேகா,

“பிரிகேடியர் சுரேஷ் சல்லே ஒரு முஸ்லீம். ஒரு முஸ்லீமை எவ்வாறு புலனாய்வு தலைவராக நியமிக்க முடியும்? நாங்கள் இஸ்லாமிய பயங்கரவாதத்தை எதிர்த்துப் போராடுகிறோம்,

Former Army Commander and UNF MP Sarath Fonseka today criticized President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s decision to appoint Brigadier Suresh Sallay as head of the country’s State Intelligence Service (SIS).

Speaking at the parliamentary session on Tuesday , Fonseka said that Sallay’s ethnicity would affect his work as head of SIS.

“Brigadier Suresh Sallay is a Muslim. How can a Muslim be appointed as the SIS Head? We are fighting Islamic terrorism and there is conflict of interest here.”

President Rajapakse for the first time appointed a military officer to head the SIS. Sallay is the former Head of Military Intelligence. SIS previously operated as part of the police department.

Fonseka speaking further said a minimum of 10 years is required to bring the SIS to international standards.

“Rajapakse says he has already restructured the SIS. A person with a sound understanding about national security will know that it takes a great deal of time, ” Fonseka pointed out.( The Sunday Morning)

His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapakse served in the Military in higher rank. And then, he has been the (Nearly) Commander of the all forces. As such, he gained lot of experience and, learnt much about the human naturalism. Its not that a Muslim cannot do this job perfectly. We must congratulate and salute our President. Before he takes critical decisions, he gets advises or recommendations from the departmental experts. So, Mr. Fonseka does not need to worry about it. Everything will go smoothly. Let our President. do his job independently.

Is there no one to guide our community to select good candidates in any type of elections?
Ashraff was correct identifying the friends and enemies while safeguarding the name of the party among the major community as not a racist party.
Hakeem has totally failed and he went behind UNP lost the identity of the party and led the voters in wrong path.
Now he is trying to align with some other racist elements and we do not understand what would happen to our future generations in this country.
