  1. What a confusion? What a political manipulation is this? Now, ACJU will be happy to celebrate a historical victory? this tells us, we, Sri Lankan Muslims do not have a clear understanding in this issue.. For some this issue is a matter of faith and disbelief: for some this is a matter of self respect and ego.. for some this matter is a pride and proud. some people think if they give away this right it would be a disgrace for Muslims of Sri Lanka... basically, we have failed read our contexts and present a mercy of Islamic teaching to all other communities. A piece of this cloth create a lot of confusion among us and among non-Muslims. this may keep them away from Islam if we are so suborn on this issue. Islam is more broader than this .. While there is two options why do not consider viable and flexible one.. Islam is easy and simple religion. it does not put harsh on people .. Just because some clerics want their wives wear it, let them force all Muslim community to do it.. Now what joke? these mullah can buy politics with religion. They must fear Allah and give public most flexible options. Let them do what they want to do. they them meet BBS radicals as they like but leave public to go for easy option of not wearing Niqab.... If they do not wear it it is not a greater sin.. let them all wear scarf to cover heads... Protection of life become priority than wearing piece of cloth ( Niqab one),,,, these clerics do like to bring more harm to our ladies by this kind of playing with politics through their version of literal Islam. There is little difference these clerics and other radical Muslims..

  2. Even though, the Nikab is not worn by 95% of Muslim women in Sri Lanka we should not just keep quiet and let them do away with it permanently. It's our women's right to wear what they want like every other woman. BUT govt can bring in legislations to ban it in view of the security of the country.

  3. Brother/sister, it would be better visiting ACJU and get clarified what is behind the story of piece of cloth. It becomes very common that every one thinks they are very wise and their thoughts are superior than thoughts and guidance of team of people/clergies. Also, to my knowledge, thousands of Muslim ladies applied to UN against the new law proposed. If we do not visit ACJU and clarify then there is very little difference between us and non-muslim clergies who often make their (wrong) interpretation on Islamic Law and Regulation and even Quranic Verses. Let's understand each others and live with peace and harmony.
