  5. Do not remove any Arabic sign boards, because in Colombo, I’ve seen many Chinese projects, restaurants and shops have displayed their names in Chinese language. Every foreign embassies have displayed their names in their own native languages. Different foreign donations especially by Middle East countries have displayed their respective native languages on opening plaques which have been opened by our presidents and prime ministers. First of all, remove them all. Then, we can remove what’s in kathankudy.

Also it’s unconstitutional to write Sinhala or Tamil languages using English Alphabets. Hiru T/V should take immediate action to stop this singlish and tanglish.

  8. In Sri Lanka, official language is Sinhala and Tamil is also used as official in North and East. All the other languages, like Arabic, Chinese, Pali, Sanskrit etc, could be used for other reasons like religious, traditional, or decorative purposes, which the Sri Lankan Constitution does not forbid!

So, displaying a ‘decorative’ writing in any language, in your home, office, streets, or in your shop’s name boards is not illegal. Don’t we Muslims call us with Arabic names for centuries, in this country and elsewhere?
Similarly growing a tree, originally brought from Arabia is also not illegal, too. Don’t we grow orchids, several kinds of bonsai tree etc? They are all native to many countries around the world. So, this is also not a point to protest. Some may start rearing camels, which is another domestic animal. Why not?
However the real problem could be just jealousy or part of a political agenda of some dirty politics only. So, let’s laugh it off and ignore their dastardly, baseless, ridiculous, petty talk and reporting about these things.

  9. Sorry brother, I don't agree with you. When it is not illegal, why should I suppress my happiness of doing some thing I like?

This is a Democratic country. You can wear any dress, speak any language, grow any trees, rear any animals and so on. For example, a half naked dress in the west doesn't become fashion in this country? Why make fish of one and foul of another? If someone gets irritated by my appearance or anything for that matter, let him get educated about my constitutional right! Pls read my comment below:
