ஆசிய கிண்ணத்தொடரில் இலங்கை அணியின் ஒட்டுமொத்த செயல்பாடு அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளதாக அணித்தலைவர் மேத்யூஸ் கூறியுள்ளார்.
அபுதாபியில் நேற்று நடந்த 3-வது லீக் போட்டியில் ஆப்கானிஸ்தானிடம் 91 ஓட்டங்கள் வித்தியாசத்தில் தோல்வியடைந்த இலங்கை அணி தொடரிலிருந்து வெளியேறியது.
தோல்விக்கு பின்னர் பேசிய அணித்தலைவர் மேத்யூஸ், ஆசிய கிண்ண போட்டியின் தொடக்கத்திலேயே வெளியேறியது மிகப்பெரிய ஏமாற்றத்தை அளிக்கிறது.
அணியின் ஒட்டுமொத்த செயல்பாடு அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
ஆப்கானிஸ்தான் மிகவும் அபாரமாக விளையாடி எங்களை வெளியேற்றி விட்டது. அவர்களுக்கு எனது பாராட்டுக்களை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்

எங்கள் அணி வீரர்களுக்கு நெருக்கடியை எப்படி சமாளிப்பது என்பது தெரியவில்லை. இரண்டு ஆட்டத்திலும் 160 ஓட்டங்கள் கூட எடுக்க முடியாமல் போனது வருத்தம் அளிக்கிறது என கூறியுள்ளார்.

My comments:
ReplyDelete1. Fitness of many of the players are not up to the standard.
2. Upul Tharanga should not be an opening player.
3. Captain should always reprimand when a player drop a catch or midfield not ignore that.
4. We need speaciliast batsmen rather than all-rounders.
