An Obituary Note: Usthaz Khairul Bashar 12/03/2017

-By Rabitha Naleemiah group UK-

We, alumni of Jamiah Naleemiah in UK are shocked to learn that our beloved Usthaz Khairul Bashar has passed away suddenly on 12/3/2017. We are really saddened with this shocking news and we express our deepest condolence for the family and relatives of Usthaz who are grief-stricken by his death.  May Allah make forgive him and reward him with Jannath Al- Firdaus.

He hails from a respected religious family in Darga town. He is a pious and devoted person.  He dedicated his life for Islamic studies despite of the fact that he had many opportunities to do some other areas of studies and yet, he wanted to go for Islamic studies to dedicate his life for Islamic education and dawa work.

Usthaz Kairul Bashar is one of senior members of Naleemiah graduates. He entered Jamiah Naleemiah as one of the first groups of Naleemiah students in 1973. He graduated from Jamiah Naleemiah in 1979 and since then he has been working as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, & Dean of Islamic studies. He has completed his MA in Arabic in Sudan in 1985 and since then he has been working in Jamiah Naleemiah until his sudden death.

He is one of devoted Jamiah Naleemiah staff. He devoted his entire life for Islamic education and Islamic dawa work. Since his graduation, he dedicated his life for Islamic teaching at Jamiah Naleemiah. In early 1980s many of us (old boys of Naleemiah) left Naleemiah in search of prosperous career paths and yet, some dedicated academics sacrificed their life time for Jamiah Naleemiah.  He is one of those pioneers who sacrificed his life for the course of Muslim education despite of his personal financial difficulties. May Allah reward him abundantly for this sacrifice.

We are fortunate enough to learn from him. He is a polite and honest teacher. He has been always smiling whenever see him and he has been always helpful for students.  He has been an inspirational teacher. He did not limit his service for teaching career alone rather he dedicated his dawa work for 40 years. He has been doing his Jummah sermons and special lectures in many villages around his home town. He has been delivering |Friday sermons in home town for more than 40 years.

He has been writing for many Naleemiah academic journals and Islamic magazines for more than 40 years. He has been working with different dawa groups for many years. Although he was not associated with any Dawa group but his contribution to dawa is immense. He is fluent in four languages and he is a good orator and writer. One of best qualities of Usthaz is that he has been getting on well with all people. He has been getting on well with all groups. He did not hold the grudge on any groups or any person. That is one of best qualities we rarely see among Islamic groups today in Sri Lanka.

His teaching style is unique one. He has been teaching us Arabic poems and Arabic literature for us and still some of his lessons are vividly clear in our minds. He has been humble and polite teacher and he has earned good will of his students and his colleagues.

He has written many books and his book on the biography of some prophets is regarded one of best books he has written and he has written hundreds of articles and research papers. All those works testify his skills, talents and academic credits.

Yesterday he was one of chief quests in Naleemiah convocation ceremony and today he is taken by Allah. His sudden death imprints a deepest grief on us and it also imprints a life time lesson for us as well to amend our life style and live in this world with mission in life.

The funeral prayers and burial will take place in China fort town central mosques on 13/03/2017 at 10 am.
He is survived with five children and wife. May Allah comfort and relief them from this grief and make life easy for them.
